Phase II – Week 32

We’re coming down to the final weeks of our renovation, and there’s a lot of details coming together. One curveball was courtesy of Black Hills Energy, who installed a new gas line and moved our meter outside as part of their routine infrastructure upgrades. Unfortunately, this puts it right in the front of the house. Thankfully we hadn’t finalized our landscaping yet, and we should be able to hide it:
More and more kitchen equipment is being installed, and it’s really shaping up to be the nicest kitchen on campus:
The main floor is being prepared for carpet, and the woodwork has been touched up and refinished where necessary:
Windstream brought phone service back into the building so we can get the fire alarms up and running:
The basement bathroom is coming along nicely:
New built-in desks for the basement computer lab have started going in:
Upstairs, the mirrors are going in the bathrooms:
Our new proximity card locks are going on each room door, ensuring students will have convenient but secure access to their rooms:
Special thanks to brother Drew Stange who helped install some new closet systems for storage over the weekend:
Window treatments are going in on the upper floors, and they’ll be moving down as the contractors finish:
Our wireless equipment is starting to go back in, ensuring students will have seamless connectivity throughout the facility:
Finally, we’ve been fine-tuning the lighting plan for outside to ensure we’ve got adequate light but without bothering the neighbors. Here’s a quick peak of the basketball court at night with our new efficient LED lighting:
