Phase II – Week 16

Week 16 starts with an exciting milestone: drywall work has begun on third floor. This marks the end of the rough work and the beginning of finish work, and it helps to get a much better sense of how the layout feels.
Cement board is also going up the bathrooms in anticipation of tile work.
Framing is proceeding in the basement, which will be the last framing work needed.
Additionally, all of the holes in the floor for new plumbing have been patched.
Outside, matching replacement brick has arrived so the masons are beginning to patch in all the openings that have been modified such as the new fire escape doors on second and third floors.
In the basketball court, the foots for the relocated fire escape stair and the new retaining wall have been poured.
Finally, we received some samples of the furniture we’re planning to purchase and we’ve been evaluating them with some of the students’ help.
